When is the right time to see an orthodontist?

Child with crooked teeth
Your smile is the centerpiece of your face. It will be your social signature for the rest of your life.
Orthodontic treatment is one of the most valuable gifts you can give to your children.  Because of this, many parents wonder if their child will need braces and, if so, when is the ideal time to see an orthodontist?

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that all children see an orthodontist at age 7.  By this age, the adult front teeth begin erupting into the mouth and bite problems that may be developing can begin to be recognized before they become serious.  The truth is that most children don’t require any orthodontic treatment at age 7.  However, there are some children with more complicated orthodontic problems that can benefit from early treatment to take advantage of growth, prevent tooth extractions, or many other potential benefits.  The good news is at Budd Orthodontics all consultations are complimentary.  Come in and let us answer any questions or concerns you might have.  This is a decision you don’t want to take lightly.  After all, smiles last a lifetime.
Dr. Budd is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists.  This means he has completed a three year residency in addition to becoming a dentist.  He can provide you with expert treatment as an orthodontic specialist.  Please contact us and let us help you achieve the smile you deserve – a healthy, beautiful one!
